Accommodation close to universities and public transport.
Slovakia is home to several established universities and attracts international students from across Europe and beyond. Košice, the country’s second-largest city, is an important university centre and offers a range of accommodation options, including university dormitories, private rooms, shared apartments and private student accommodation.
For students looking for accommodation in Košice, location and access to the university are important considerations. Rental prices vary depending on the type of accommodation, room standard and location, with private accommodation available from around €250 per month. Students should also consider public transport connections, whether utilities and internet are included, deposit requirements and the terms of the rental agreement rather than comparing properties on monthly rent alone.
Before booking student accommodation in Slovakia, international students should check exactly what is included in the price, the length of the rental agreement, payment and cancellation conditions, and any documentation required by the accommodation provider. Arranging accommodation before travelling to Slovakia can make arrival and the first weeks at university considerably easier.
